The purpose of this research was to study the possibility of using online social networks as additional tools in the educational process, which was conducted through an exploratory, qualitative and experimental methodology with two different groups of students, in one of which Facebook was used to communicate some of the subject’s contents, to verify its effect on school performance and thus raise the possibility of their use in education. An interesting difference in results was obtained in both groups. As a collateral result, several differences in the students’ usual behavior on the network, compared to the communication style they use in the classroom were observed.
