Exploratory Analysis of Strategies in the Supply Chain to Face Globalization in Colombia
Foreign trade is of great importance, as companies must be willing to face markets that require greater competitiveness, which involves activities such as those related to the supply chain. These processes lead to undertake changes including those related to the relationship with new suppliers, the opening of new markets, the need to recognize the different existing trade agreements, new cultures, new languages, diversified demand, etc. The supply chain is affected, making its management more complex when attempting to meet the goal of reducing costs, improving quality, meeting the demand in a timely manner and effectively carrying out the logistics cycle. Several strategies related to the organization of the supply chain are described; some local cases as well as the actions implemented or recommended to address international trade are presented.
