A Virtual Society
In the digital age, technology impacts every aspect of our lives. However, its excessive use can have detrimental effects. This text analyzes how dependence on technology distances us from the real world and turns us into slaves of the virtual realm. Nomophobia, the irrational fear of being
without one’s cellphone, is a symptom of this dependency. Those afflicted experience anxiety, nervousness, and irritability when separated from their device, leading to serious
physical and mental health issues such as visual impairment, tendonitis, anxiety, and depression. Social isolation is another unfortunate consequence. Technology addicts often neglect real-life interactions with friends, retreating
into their own virtual world.
