The Memory as Self-Understanding in the Autobiographical Work of Nelida Piñon

This article proposes an approach to the autobiographical work of the brazilian writer Nélida Piñon, specifically the works Coração Andarilho and Livro das Horas from the narrative identity notion. The
purpose is to demonstrate the way in which the author uses the memory resource to narrate the process of self-understanding involved in autobiographical writing. The use of memory gives a movement condition to the autobiographical voice, since this constitutes itself during the movement between between idem-identity and ipse-identity
