Primary valuation and corporality Toward a phenomoenology of affection
There is background for the affective turn in the early phenomenological developments of the last century. In particular, genetic research carried out by Husserl delves into the nature of the affective phenomenon. However, this is part of a broader epistemological project, which results in the condition not being investigated in depth. The purpose of this article is to revisit Husserl’s findings and to go further and approach a systematic phenomenology of the affective phenomenon. To this end, we analyze the scope and limitations of Husserlian analysis and show the extent to which it is based on cognitive bias. In this regard, we will reveal the fundamentally valuational and corporal character of the affective experience, a feature that finds empirical evidence in recent advances framed in the cognitive sciences.
