Creative Commons License and access to scientific knowledge in Colombia
The objective of this article is to show the Creative Commons licenses into the intellectual Property System as a different alternative of copyright and how can be used like a knowledge dissemination tool; the methodology is qualitative at the relational and explanatory levels; a documentary review was carried out on four categories: copyright, Creative Commons licenses, open access and research in Colombian higher education; it is found that these types of licenses are not used to a greater extent, however with the opportunity of open access for publication in scientific journals, there is a tendency for more dissemination; the open access efforts operate as an opening of knowledge to the world, but not vice versa; it is concluded that research in Colombia depends on the accessible knowledge that only reaches 10% of global knowledge. Efforts should be made to access proprietary bases and resources, which require investment and government policies.
